Epicor Congratulates Whisky Distillery Bruichladdich on Being Named 2017 Constellation SuperNova Award Finalist

Leveraging Epicor technology, the company has streamlined operations and managed international compliance requirements to expand distribution by 640%

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today congratulated Simon Coughlin, CEO of Bruichladdich, for being named a Constellation Research 2017 SuperNova Awards finalist in the "Technology Optimization and Innovation" category. The awards program recognizes leaders and teams for demonstrated success in implementing leading-edge business models and emerging technologies for their organizations.

SuperNova Award winners are determined by a combination of public voting and input from SuperNova judges, comprised of technology thought leaders and journalists. Winners will be announced on stage at the SuperNova Award Gala Dinner Oct. 26, during Constellation's Connected Enterprise innovation summit.

SuperNova Awards voting is open to the public beginning Sept. 18 through Oct. 2. View and vote for Bruichladdich’s entry here:

Headquartered and founded on the Scottish remote Isle of Islay in the Inner Hebrides in 1881, Bruichladdich is a globally renowned whisky distillery that mainly produces craft Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Bruichladdich is the only major distiller to distil, mature and bottle all its whisky on Islay. The company is committed to producing the finest, truly artisanal, most thought-provoking single malt whisky, of flawless provenance and utmost integrity. To meet the company’s plans for growth and ensure operational visibility and traceability to track every liter of whisky throughout maturation from bottling to dispatching, while complying with regulatory requirements from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), Bruichladdich leveraged the Epicor Tropos Process Manufacturing Solution.

Since going live on Epicor Tropos, Bruichladdich has grown its business exponentially. Originally distributing to around 20 countries, the business now distributes to more than 60, and the company forecasts it will distribute 320,000 cases around the world this year―a colossal increase from the 5,000 cases distributed in 2001.

"We are incredibly excited to see Simon and Bruichladdich recognized as a SuperNova Award finalist. The Bruichladdich story is incredibly inspiring. While front-line artisanal craftsman focus on whisky making, the company’s back-office operations are now scalable and efficient. Keeping its roots in crafting spirits with integrity, authenticity and character, Bruichladdich has not shied away from innovation. This is exemplified both by its pioneering new breed of thought-provoking young whiskys and adoption of new technology to forge growth and global expansion.”
